Hello world! Lots of life events the last few years have slowed me down a bit and created some hurdles that were eventually crushed. Mixed media crafting, art journaling to be more specific became part of my therapeutic journey beginning in February of 2024, and wow has it been good. It has helped keep me balanced, grounded, and mentally sound. I am rediscovering being an artist and loving it!
I had thought about switching gears in 2023 and taking a break from traditional textiles and the likes, but still servicing my clientele of course, and the ether sent those thoughts to good old YouTube and what do you know, mixed media crafting videos appeared in my feed. I took what I saw and ran with it. I was totally inspired to say the least to bust out what papers, old books, magazine tears, scrap paper, tissue paper, gift wrap, paints, trims, etc. I had in my stash and start making all sorts of crafty stuff, and art journals. The term “junk journals” is used by many, but I avoid using the word “junk” because I do not resonate with that word. Of course the vlog channels I was watching gave me a plethora of ideas, and I put my own stamp on each and every creation. It has been so much fun, and at the same time, has helped me focus and hyper focus on the limitlessness of mixed media arts and crafts.
My style is a mixture of boho, abstract, fragmentation, eco-inspired, nature-inspired, and grunge and punk rock, sometimes steam punk sprinkled in. I love to mix soft and feminine with street / grunge. I learned that being an artist means having a specific style and mark that one who appreciates art can recognize immediately. I studied visual art in high school and junior college, and during my fashion career, and must say that if I am hindered from being creative, I am not a happy human. Being creative is such a liberating feeling, and it’s what I signed up for in this lifetime.
I have so many creations in my library and here is a tiny glimpse from Spring of 2024.

I send everyone positive energy, abundance, and peace. Have a look at my Instagram @elle_b_see and I’ll see you again soon!
